'Sunday in the Park' Painted Back onto Broadway Jan.25

Roundabout Theatre Company proudly presents the first Broadway revival production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's , Sunday in the Park with George, beginning performances today, Friday January 25 at Studio 54 (254 West 54th Street). The limited engagement will open officially February 21, 2008.

Alexander Gemignani, who treaded the dark alleys of Fleet Street as the Beadle in the Broadway revival Sweeney Todd, will portray the title role in the national tour beginning November 13, while David Hess is 'on leave from the show to recover from vocal strain,' reports the production spokespersons.

Joining previously announced stars Daniel Evans, Jenna Russell are Michael Cumpsty, Alexander Gemignani and Jessica Molaskey with Mary Beth Peil. The Menier Chocolate Factory's Olivier Award winning production of Stephen Sondheim & James Lapine's Pulitzer Prize winning musical Sunday in the Park with George, is directed by Sam Buntrock with musical staging by Christopher Gattelli.
