In an attempt to prove that Washington, D.C. isn't the only town that rewards malfeasance, Center Theatre Group is celebrating Los Angelenos' wrong-doings and missteps by asking all residents to search their consciences for the worst things that they have ever done, and submit said misdeeds now through December 23 to win a package of prizes. The holiday prize pack includes two tickets to see The Second City's "A Christmas Carol: Twist Your Dickens!" at the Kirk Douglas Theatre, a gift certificate to the local restaurant Ugo Culver City and all the Tiny Timtinis and Scrooge Drivers you can drink **. The Fred Ebb Foundation in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company presents the ninth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, is presented by Joel Grey tonight, December 2nd from 6-8pm at a by-invitation-only ceremony in the Penthouse Lounge of The American Airlines Theater.

Cascading notes swirl in a reverberating mural of majestic sounds as the William J. Gillespie Concert Organ fills the concert hall with the nostalgia of holiday classics during Pacific Symphony's annual "Holiday Organ Spectacular," part of the Pedals and Pipes series. The evening ignites with the talent of virtuoso organist Todd Wilson, Broadway soprano Lisa Vroman and accompanying Symphony principal musicians: Timothy Landauer, cello; Benjamin Smolen, flute; Barry Perkins, trumpet; and Mindy Ball, harp. Visiting the Symphony for the fourth year, Wilson, head of the organ department at The Cleveland Institute of Music and curator of the E.M. Skinner pipe organ at Severance Hall, also performs organ works by Bach, Widor, Carter and Purvis. This concert takes place one night only, Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. No matter how you feel about the vast number of liberties Matthew Bourne takes in creating his scenario for The Sleeping Beauty, you must admit the end result is vibrantly imaginative, magical and fascinating to watch. Now at the Ahmanson Theatre for two weeks only through December 1, Sleeping Beauty does indeed have beauty in more ways than one.
