Casting is complete and rehearsals have begun for Ngozi Anyanwu's new play 'Good Grief' at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre. Directed by Patricia McGregor, Anyanwu will also perform in 'Good Grief' for its world premiere at the Douglas, which begins previews February 26, opens March 5 and closes March 26, 2017. The Music Center continues its 2016-2017 season of Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center with performances by Jessica Lang Dance (February 17-19, 2017) at The Music Center's Ahmanson Theatre, including the West Coast premiere of Tesseracts of Time, created in collaboration with world renowned architect Steven Holl. The three-day engagement also includes Thousand Yard Stare, a new work created by choreographer Jessica Lang in 2015, audience favorite, Droplet, and Lang's iconic gem, The Calling. The program highlights Lang's keen ability to create emotionally accessible work using modern themes. From incorporating architecture, shapes and patterns into her work, to developing pieces based on veterans' battle experiences, Lang offers a fresh perspective on contemporary dance for the 21st century.

The American premiere of Tim Crouch's 'Adler & Gibb' will open tonight, Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at 8 p.m. at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre. Playwright, actor and director Tim Crouch will join the cast of the American premiere of "Adler & Gibb," a co-commission by Center Theatre Group with the Royal Court Theatre in London.

LA STAGE Alliance has announced that the 27th Annual Ovation Awards ceremony will be held today, January 17, 2017 at the Ahmanson Theatre at The Music Center. Red carpet arrivals begin at 6pm and the curtain will rise at 7:30pm. A reception in the Grand Hall of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion will follow the ceremony.
