Momma's Boyz Kicks Off Teatro Vista's 2011-12 Season

Teatro Vista welcomes nationally acclaimed Latino writer Cándido Tirado as the company's newest resident playwright by kicking off its 2011-2012 season with an updated version of Tirado's Momma's Boyz, a humorous, dark, but ultimately uplifting look at what happens when a young man turns back the hands of time to save the life of his friend from the violence of dealing drugs.

HENRY V and SEED Set for Classical Theatre of Harlem

Under new leadership, The Classical Theatre of Harlem is proud to present two gripping world premiere productions that mark the Company's return to full-scale works. From August 5 - September 4, The Classical Theatre of Harlem will present Shakespeare's great history play, Henry V, in a new staging directed by Jenny Bennett that features OBIE award-winner Ty Jones in the title role. An acclaimed veteran of the Company and driving force behind its survival, Jones heads a cast of 15 in a raw, timeless production. His interpretation of King Henry V not only highlights the character's charisma and inspirational power to lead, but also his heroic faults and morally questionable tactics.

Sahr Ngaujah On Board for US Tour of FELA!

With 11 Tony ® Award nominations including Best Musical and Best Director of a Musical & Best Choreography for Bill T. Jones, the upcoming US tour of FELA! is set to be led by Sahr Ngaujah, who originated the role on Broadway. The tour will play the following US cities: Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Miami, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Tempe, and Washington.

The Williamston Theater, mid-Michigan's award winning professional theatre company located at 122 S. Putnam in downtown Williamston, kicks off its 2011-2012 Season in September. This season will have two World Premieres along with some familiar faces in familiar roles. The season will include: The Dead Guy by Eric Coble, This Wonderful Life by Steve Murray, the World Premiere of Dead Man's Shoes by Michigan playwright Joseph Zettelmaier, the World Premiere of The Usual: A Musical Love Story by Alan Gordon and Mark Sutton-Smith, The Understudy by Theresa Rebeck and Red, White and Tuna by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears and Ed Howard.

TNT Renews 'Leverage' For Fifth Season

TNT has renewed its fast-paced, light-hearted caper drama Leverage for a fifth season, just as the fourth season is shaping up to score the show's biggest ratings yet. TNT has ordered 15 episodes of Leverage, with the fifth season slated to launch in summer 2012. The series - which centers on a gang of grifters, hackers and thieves out to settle scores against the rich and powerful - currently airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. (ET/PT). After the show's Aug. 28 summer finale, Leverage will return to wrap up its fourth season with new episodes in November and December.

Rachel York, Graham Rowat Lead Barrington Stage Company's THE GAME, 8/11-28

Curran Theatre Welcomes FELA!, 11/15-12/11

SHN is thrilled to announce FELA! as the 7th and final show in SHN's upcoming 2011-2012 Season. FELA! , directed by Bill T. Jones, is a provocative hybrid of dance, theatre and music exploring the extravagant world of Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti. The show has become an international sensation having been performed in three continents. FELA! will play November 15 - December 11 at San Francisco's Curran Theatre (445 Geary Street) which operates under the direction of Carole Shorenstein Hays. GYPSY to Close At the Egyptian Arena Stage in Hollywood 7/31

West Coast Ensemble's smash-hit critically-acclaimed production of GYPSY, with music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, book by Arthur Laurents, musical direction by Johanna Kent, choreography by John Todd and directed by Richard Israel, will close on Sunday, July 31 at the Theatre of Arts Arena Stage, 1625 N. Las Palmas Avenue in Hollywood.

Twisted Broadway Hits Melbourne for Oz Showbiz Cares/Equity Fights AIDS

Melbourne's Musical Theatre community came together at The BMW Edge on Monday night in a celebration of togetherness for a wonderful cause. Thousands were raised for Oz Showbiz Cares/Equity Fights Aids. Hosted by the highly entertaining Leah Howard and Brent Hill, the programme featured performers from musicals being performed around Australia including Rock of Ages, Mary Poppins, Wicked and Love Never Dies. The concept was simple with performers singing songs originally written for the opposite gender. There were many highlights of the night including Gareth Keegan's charismatic performance of Life of The Party from the Wild Party, David Rogers Smith and Troy Sussman's highly comic version of I know Him So Well from Chess was vocally effortless and the riotous Amy Housewine had the audience in stitches with her outrageous parody of If I Only Had A Brain from the Wizard of Oz, (If I Only Had Cocaine). Matt Robinson's Original Composition from his show Sing Through Tomorrow was also a real feature of the evening.
