Rivendell Theatre Ensemble Announces Cast of THE CAKE

Rivendell Theatre Ensemble (RTE), Chicago's only Equity theatre dedicated to producing new work with women at the core, announces the Midwest premiere of The Cake by Bekah Brunstetter, directed by Lauren Shouse, and featuring RTE Founders Tara Mallen and Keith Kupferer, RTE Member Krystel McNeil, with Tuckie White.

Random Acts Announces New #SafeSpace Series With Host Sadieh Rifai

Random Acts, the micro-budget theatre company behind the smash-hit Strangest Things! The Musical will premiere a new monthly variety series spotlighting underrepresented voices and raising funds for deserving causes. Titled '#SafeSpace,' the series will debut on Monday, March 19th at 8pm with a show hosted by comedian and actor Sadieh Rifai (Amazon's Patriot.) All proceeds from the 3/19 event will be donated to Planned Parenthood.

Adam Rapp's THE EDGE OF OUR BODIES Receives NYC Premiere at 59E59

59E59 Theaters (Val Day, Artistic Director; Brian Beirne, Managing Director) is thrilled to welcome the NYC premiere of Adam Rapp's THE EDGE OF OUR BODIES, directed by Jacqueline Stone. Produced by Chicago's TUTA Theatre, THE EDGE OF OUR BODIES begins performances on April 4 for a limited engagement through Sunday, April 22.

Facility Theatre is proud to announce casting for David Lang's 2008 Pulitzer Award winning 'The Little Match Girl Passion' to be directed by dado as part of winning the prestigious 2017 Edes Award. The cast will include Emmy Bean, Erin Carney, Sam Farmilant, Sarah Thompson, Ryan Strand, Alfredo Jimenez, Daniel Kazenel, and Zachery Angus with musical direction and sound design by Alex Monroe and John Corkill of beyond this point.

A Red Orchid Extends TRAITOR Due To Overwhelming Demand

A Red Orchid Theatre announces the extension of Traitor, an adaptation of Heinrich Ibsen's An Enemy of the People, written by Ensemble Member Brett Neveu and directed by Ensemble Member Michael Shannon, due to overwhelming demand. The production features Ensemble Members Dado, Kirsten Fitzgerald, Larry Grimm, Guy Van Swearingen and Natalie West, with Jacob Alexander, Mary Jo Bolduc, Missi Davis, Kristin Ellis, Nation Henrickson, Frank Nall and Steve Walker, featuring lighting design by Ensemble Member Mike Durst. Traitor will add Wednesday evening performances in February and now runs through March 4, 2018. 2018 at A Red Orchid Theatre, 1531 N. Wells. Tickets for the extension are on sale now.

Raven Theatre Announces 2018-19 Season

Raven Theatre is pleased to announce its 2018-19 Season, kicking off this fall with the sharp and boisterous play CRUMBS FROM THE TABLE OF JOY by two-time Pulitzer Prize-winner Lynn Nottage (Sweat, Ruined). Tyrone Phillips directs this drama about family, faith and revolution.

Cast Announced for THE WOLVES at Goodman Theatre

Game on! The Chicago premiere of Sarah DeLappe's The Wolves, a 'smart, hilarious, delightful meditation on society, sex and soccer' (The Village Voice), directed by Vanessa Stalling, launches Goodman Theatre's 2018 Owen Theatre season. A 2017 Pulitzer Prize finalist, The Wolves follows a suburban girls soccer team as they navigate life's big questions and wage their own tiny battles-with all the 'bark and bite' (Vulture.com) of a pack of adolescent warriors. Hailed as 'one of the year's best plays' (The New York Times), The Wolves is DeLappe's break-out play that recently concluded an off-Broadway run at Lincoln Center Theater. Stalling directs the Chicago premiere with an all-Chicago company.
