Taylor Dior, a native New Yorker, is ecstatic to join Phylicia Rashad's cast of Fences at Long Wharf Theatre and McCarter Theatre! Taylor was thrilled to learn she could audition for a part in a major regional production. She is beyond excited to be offered the role and embark on her first professional theater role at just 6 years old. Working under the direction of Tony Award winner Phylicia Rashad for several months is an opportunity of a lifetime!
Taylor is a versatile actress having done principal work in film, TV, commercial, local theater, and voiceover. Taylor made her local theater debut at age 5 performing in musical productions with Children’s Theater Company in NYC. She then went on to book the roles of Molly in Annie Jr. and Raynell in a local production of Fences. Her on camera work includes a recurring role in FOX pilot “Guilty” as Zoe Weston- Cuba Gooding Jr and Sharon Leal's daughter. She was priveleged to work alongside an award-winning actor. Taylor's film work ranges from both short to feature films. She also appears in national and regional commercials and has lent her voice to a Band-Aid commercial.
Taylor loves to dance, act, and sing. However, Taylor's love of performing extends beyond stage and screen. She spends as much time as she can in the gym. She has been a USAG competitive gymnast since 2012 and quickly moved up the ranks posting personal bests of 9.7 vault, 9.63 floor, 9.28 bars, 9.2 beam. She has won numerous all-around titles. Taylor sets personal goals and works very hard on improving her scores. She loves being part of a team and competing. She wants to ultimately compete in the 2024 Olympic Games.
