Charles Cusick Smith & Phil R Daniels Set and Costume Design.
Phil trained at the Bristol Old Vic. He has designed work performed at the National Theatre (UK) and for the BBC.
Charles trained at Glasgow School of Art and the Slade in London. He was awarded the T.M.A. Best Designer Award and the Manchester Evening News award for Best Design.
Charles and Phil work co designing Drama, Musical, Ballet and Opera productions internationally.
They have designed many Drama and musicals together throughout Europe. Most notably the European premiers of Stephen Sondheim's Follies and Pacific Overtures. Other notable productions include West Side Story, Spamalot, Rocky Horror Show, Hot Stuff, My Fair Lady and most of the major musical repertoire.
They have designed drama productions in most major UK repertory companies, tours and West End.
Their co designs for ballet include World premier of Alice in Wonderland - Ballet du capitol Toulouse, Giselle - Greek National Ballet, & Raymonda, in Estonia . Other designs for ballet include - Spartacus for Hong Kong ballet and Giselle for English National Ballet, 4 different productions of the Nutcracker across Europe and one in Australia. Giselle, Romeo and Juliet and The Three Musketeers for Estonian national ballet.
Their Opera credits include Nabucco, Aida, Der Rosenkavalier, Don Carlos, Cavalleria Rusticana & Pagliacci, Otello and Rigoletto in Germany, The Waltz Dream in Innsbruck, Il Trovotore in Hong Kong and Cavalleria Rusticana & Pagliacci in Tallinn.
Recently 30 of their designs have been acquired by the Victoria and Albert museum for inclusion in the permanent national collection.
Their current projects include Quartet, Chicago & Aladdin (UK) and the world premiere of Dracula for West Australian and Queensland Ballet.
