11 Programs Announced for Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival 2022
This summer’s Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival will presents 11 concerts from July 24 to August 21 – approaching its pre-pandemic scope. The 11 distinct programs in the 39th season of Long Island’s longest-running classical music festival highlight interconnections in music.
Live Bard Music Festival Explores NADIA BOULANGER & HER WORLD
The Bard Music Festival returns for its 31st season this August, with a rare and intensive two-week exploration of “Nadia Boulanger and Her World.” In twelve themed concert programs, performed live with limited in-person audiences, Bard examines Nadia Boulanger (1887–1979), the pioneering Parisian pedagogue, composer, conductor, pianist, organist and indomitable personality who shaped more than a generation of American musicians.
Chamber Project St. Louis Announces 2019/20 Season
CPSTL presents their twelfth season of unique chamber music concerts beginning September 7 at the 560 Music Center. The overarching theme of Season 12 is inspired by local geography: the confluence of two mighty rivers. The blending of two sources to create something new inspires a creative mix music and ideas. Orpheus Chamber Orchestra Presents HOMEWARD SOUNDS With Pianist Javier Perianes
On Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra presents Homeward Sounds, a program delving into the sounds of Mozart and Dvo?ak's rich lives in Salzburg, Vienna, and Prague. The concert features the New York premiere of Dvo?ak's Bagatelles, Op. 47 arranged for chamber orchestra by conductor/arranger Dennis Russell Davies, as well as Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 27 with Spanish pianist Javier Perianes, and Mozart's Symphony No. 33 in B-flat Major, K. 319. These works will provide a springboard for New York composer James Matheson's Still Life, which opens this program and reflects contemporary American sensibilities. This piece was made possible by a grant from the Fromm Music Foundation.
92Y Presents Cellist Steven Isserlis In Orpheus Chamber Orchestra Debut
On Sunday, December 9, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Kaufmann Concert Hall, 92nd Street Y presents Orpheus Chamber Orchestra with 2017 Grammy-nominated British cellist Steven Isserlis in C.P.E. Bach's Cello Concerto in A Major, H. 439, part of a growing partnership between Orpheus and 92Y. The concert marks Isserlis's long-awaited Orpheus debut.
