This concert featuresperformance of music by Troy Gifford, Randall Woolf and Jamie. Troy servesValencia State College as its Chair of the Music Departmentandis ahighly regardedguitarist andcomposer.His piece is entitledLa Chupacabraafter the "legend of the Caribbean/Latin American Yeti." Randall Woolf's piece,The Angel of Oddis based on the short story by Edgar Allen Poe and featuresDr. Nora Lee Garcia, faculty at the University of Central Florida School of Performing Arts, on flute. Jamie's piece,Chamber Symphony No.1 "Sketches of a Poet"is a full length symphony in 4 movements. It isInspired by the poetry of Dr. Stephen Caldwell-Wright, who is a Sanford-area native, currently teaches at the University of Central Florida. Our regular MC and Executive Director of hyperlocal non-profit Grow Orlando, Frank Bailey, Jr.,will read and narrate the poems as part of the performance of the Symphony.
