JCS Theater Company Presents New Play DAMASCUS CHRISTOPHANY

By:

Jake Shore announces JCS Theater Company's production of Damascus Christophany @ UNDER St. Marks Theater. The play's short description reads "Fiercely strong women... Broken, corrupt men... Visions of a dark-skinned Christ... And hope blinding light cracks fire into rage-filled time." The play is in part a reaction to America's failing interest in truth. "If this country's government wants to dismantle truth," says Shore, "my work will bark graphically in response to that."

Jake Shore is an award-winning playwright, novelist, short story writer, director and educator who teaches courses in playwriting and literature at St. Joseph's College, where he's also the Director of the Academic Advisement Center. His play entitled Holy Moly premiered in August, 2016 at The Flea Theater and was simultaneously released with the tandem novel, A Country for Fibbing. Broadwayworld states, "The debut and simultaneous release of Holy Moly and A Country for Fibbing, an innovative multi-media experience, marks the first time a play with a correlating novel have been simultaneously released in the United States." The play he wrote and directed last summer, The Devil is on the Loose with an Axe in Marshalltown, was featured in Playbill's "13 Shows Not To Miss Off-Broadway August 1-16."

Damascus Christophany will play UNDER St. Marks Theater, 94 St Marks Pl, New York, NY 10009. Performances are held at 2pm on July's last Saturday & every Saturday in August: 7/28, 8/4, 8/11, 8/18, 8/25. Tickets start at $15 and are available by clicking: HERE
