SILENCE!, STOMP, et al. Take Part in 2011 20at20!

For two weeks only, Off Broadway will offer $20 tickets twenty minutes before show time during 20at20, the bi-annual celebration of Off Broadway's best shows. Now in its 5th year, 20at20 has become one of New York's most eagerly-awaited events!

Beginning Tuesday, September 6th and continuing through Sunday, September 18th 35 Off-Broadway shows will offer available seats twenty minutes before curtain for only $20 each when purchased at the box office. For a complete list of participating shows and venues, visit www.20at20.com.

The announcement was made today by Peter Breger, chairman of The Off Broadway Alliance, the non-profit organization which sponsors the event.

Here's your chance to catch up with shows you may have missed, get a sneak peek at the newest hit, or revisit a favorite - all for only $20. And since Off Broadway has performances to fit everyone's schedule, you can see more than one. On a typical Saturday, for example, you can see Gazillion Bubble Show at 11, The Fantasticks at 2, Miss Abigail's Guide to Dating, Mating, & Marriage! at 5, Million Dollar Quartet at 8 and SILENCE! The Musical at 10:30pm. Where else can you see five shows in a day, for less than the price of one Broadway ticket?! And where else can you see the next A Chorus Line, Doubt, In the Heights, Rent, Proof or Spring Awakening - before the prices go "uptown" - and enjoy these shows in the intimate environment that can only be found Off Broadway?

This year, SEE 7 SHOWS AND GET FREE DINNER ON US! See any 7 of the participating 20at20 shows from September 6 through September 18 and receive a free voucher for dinner for 2 at an area restaurant. 20at20 is presented by The Off Broadway Alliance, a non-profit corporation organized by theater professionals dedicated to supporting, promoting and encouraging the production of Off Broadway theater and to making live theater increasingly accessible to new and diverse audiences. The Alliance holds monthly meetings and membership is open to everyone in the Off Broadway theater community. Among its initiatives, The Off Broadway Alliance sponsors a free Seminar Series focusing on the culture, business and history of Off Broadway featuring major players from the Off Broadway scene. The Alliance released the first ever Off Broadway Economic Impact Report, which detailed Off Broadway's $461 million annual impact on the economy of the City of New York.
