Lincoln Center will present three new productions, all receiving their US premieres. The shows, FOUR QUARTETS, ONE EVENING, and STIFTERS DINGE, will be presented as a part of the "New Visions" series. The series will feature Tony winner Stephen Dillane and director Katie Mitchell.

Tony Award-winning actor Stephen Dillane performs T.S. Eliot's FOUR QUARTETS, followed by the Miró Quartet's interpretation of Beethoven's late String Quartet in A minor, Op.132, which originally inspired the timeless texts. Four Quartets, which originated at the Donmar Warehouse in London in January 2009 will be performed December 2 and 3 only at Baryshnikov Arts Center. The show is directed by Katie Mitchell.

Actor Stephen Dillane, tenor Mark Padmore and pianist Andrew West perform the U.S. premiere of ONE EVENING, inspired by Samuel Beckett's life-long love of Schubert's music. In a new English translation by Whitbread Award-winning poet Michael Symmons Roberts, Dillane's reading of Beckett's text will be interspersed with Padmore's performance of Schubert's achingly-beautiful song-cycle Winterreise.

Finally, STIFTERS DINGE is the latest of innovative German director/composer Heiner Goebbels' works to stretch the boundaries of live performance. The 70-minute-long sonic performance landscape was inspired by the writings of 19th-century Austrian romantic novelist Adalbert Stifter. It has been described as "A sculptural installation, a performance composition, a piano piece without pianists, a play with no players, a no-man show," by The Guardian (London). The title translates as "Stifters Things."
