Fire up your classical monologue with some of New York's best Shakespearean actors. Bring your monologue and prepare for an intense work session with director Michael Sexton, acclaimed actors Amanda Quaid and two-time Tony Award winner Stephen Spinella.

This single day of classical acting instruction will provide detailed and specific work on a piece you have prepared. Starting with group work and moving to individual attention, this intensive will put you through all your paces and leave your classical monologue firing on all cylinders.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS:

Amanda Quaid, an award-winning actress and teacher, has appeared on Broadway in Equus and numerous Off-Broadway productions including; Pericles for which she won the Bayfield Award, the world premiere of The (curious case of the) Watson Intelligence, the US premiere of c*ckand Luck of the Irish (Lortel Nom.), and Red Bull Theater's The Witch of Edmonton. She has also been seen in major regional Theaters across the country as well as numerous films and TV shows. She has been Faculty for 13 years at HB Studio teaching speech, accents, and heightened language.

Michael Sexton is the Artistic Director of The Shakespeare Society in NYC. Favorite recent directing credits include: Coriolanus at Red Bull Theater; As You Like It and Henry V at Two River Theater Company; Kelly Masterson's Edith at Berkshire Theater Festival; and Titus Andronicus with Jay O. Sanders at The Public Theater. He has directed at New York Theater Workshop, MCC, Classic Stage Company, The Old Globe, Playmakers Rep, and many others. He has been a guest artist and/or taught class at Columbia, Rutgers, Princeton, UNC Chapel Hill, NYU, Juilliard and the Taconic Correctional Facility.

Stephen Spinella is a two time Tony and Drama Desk award winner for his iconic performance as Prior in Angels in America. He has appeared on Broadway in A View from the Bridge, Electra, James Joyce's The Dead (Tony and Drama Desk Noms), Our Town and Spring Awakening. He starred Red Bull Theater's productions of Volpone and Coriolanus, played Jacques in Dan Sullivan's As You Like It for Shakespeare in the Park, and has appeared in numerous films and TV shows.
