CAT Theatre to Present ENCHANTED APRIL, 3/21-4/5
CAT Theatre will present Enchanted April March 21 thru April 5, 2014. This is CAT's second time to present Enchanted April, the first being in 2007. In celebration of CAT's 50-year history as Richmond's professional theater with a community heart, CAT patrons selected Enchanted April as the show they would most like to see repeated.
"The Enchanted April" was written by Elizabeth von Arnim and the novel was adapted to the stage by Kane Campbell. The 1991 film version featured Miranda Richardson, Alfred Molina and Joan Plowright.
Director Pat Walker says, "Enchanted April is a story about change and growth through the magic of beauty. The beauty of an Italian villa in April -- sunshine, flowers, sparkling sea -- works its magic on a few world-weary Londoners and leads them to find the beauty in themselves and the beauty -- and joy -- they had lost from their own lives. And who among us can't profit from such magic as this?"Enchanted April runs from March 21 thru April 5, 2014, with a possible one week extension. Closing out CAT's 50th Anniversary season will be another comedy, Leaving Iowa, which runs from May 23 thru June 7, 2014.
CAT Theatre is located at 319 N. Wilkinson Road, Henrico, Virginia 23227.
