Come audition for the chance to be a part of a fast paced, retro-chic, adventure in one of the biggest little theaters in the Inland Empire!

Get ready for a slick, high-flying adventure where charm can get you just about anywhere! Catch Me If You Can follows the story of teenage con artist Frank Abagnale Jr., who successfully poses as a pilot, doctor, and lawyer while staying one step ahead of the determined FBI agent on his trail. Set against a vibrant 1960s backdrop, this stylish musical is packed with big musical numbers, memorable characters, and a story that balances humor with heart as Frank searches for where he truly belongs. It’s a fast-moving, feel-good show with standout roles and plenty of chances to shine on stage.

Audition Information

When: April 17th at 7pm and 18th at 2pm

(invited callbacks are on April 19th at 5pm)

Where: The Sandra R Courtney Community Playhouse located at 150 E San Bernardino Ave. Rialto CA 92376

What to Prepare: Please prepare to sing roughly one minute of a Broadway-style musical song that shows off your voice and also your acting abilities. Please bring a backing track/instrumental track via auxiliary-capable device. There will be NO accompanist present for auditions. Headshots and resumes are HIGHLY recommended! You may sing a song from the show, but not required.

There will be a dance call so bring something comfortable to change into.

Rehearsal Information

Rehearsals begin Monday, May 4th (Mandatory rehearsal)

Rehearsals are typically Monday-Thursday 6:30 pm-10 pm in Rialto.

Performance Information

July 11th-August 2nd

Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm

Saturdays and Sundays at 2 pm

(No matinee on July 11th)

*As this is a community theater production, there is no pay.

Casting

ALL ROLES ARE OPEN!!!

All ages approximate and are somewhat flexible based on audition turn out.

Frank Abagnale Jr.

Male, 16–30 (plays younger)

Charming, quick-thinking, and effortlessly likable. A natural storyteller who pulls the audience into his world while masking deeper loneliness. Needs strong stage presence and stamina.

Vocal Type: High Baritone / Tenor (comfortable mix, pop/jazz style)

Carl Hanratty

Male, 30–60

A determined FBI agent who lives by the rules. Focused and often humorless on the surface, but reveals heart and empathy as the story unfolds. Great role for a strong actor.

Vocal Type: Baritone (legit, sustained lines)

Brenda Strong

Female, 18–35

Kind, earnest, and optimistic. Falls hard for Frank and believes in the life he promises. Needs warmth and sincerity with emotional range.

Vocal Type: Soprano (legit with mix/belt)

Paula Abagnale

Female, 30–60

Frank’s mother. Elegant, alluring, and emotionally distant. Carries a sense of longing and regret. French accent

Vocal Type: Alto / Mezzo (smooth, jazz-influenced)

Frank Abagnale Sr.

Male, 40–65

A once-successful businessman who still clings to charm and pride despite losing everything. Deeply loves his son.

Vocal Type: Baritone (rich, expressive)

FBI Agents (Cod, Branton, Dollar)

Male-presenting, 20–50

A trio of agents working under Carl. They provide humor and contrast—often slightly behind the curve as Carl closes in on Frank. Strong comedic timing and ability to work as a unit.

• Agent Cod: Dry, observant, often the straight man

• Agent Branton: Eager, a bit high-strung

• Agent Dollar: Quirky, slightly offbeat energy

Vocal Type: Tenor / Baritone (character voices, solid harmonies)

Cheryl Ann

Female, 18–30

Confident, bold, and a little wild. Frank’s first romantic encounter that sparks his con-man journey.

Vocal Type: Alto / Mezzo (belt)

Carol Strong

Female, 40–65

Brenda’s mother. Big personality, warm, talkative, and proudly traditional. Strong comedic presence.

Vocal Type: Mezzo (belt)

Roger Strong

Male, 40–65

Brenda’s father. Protective, conservative, and quietly intimidating, but ultimately cares deeply.

Vocal Type: Baritone

Ensemble

All genders, ages 16-99

The engine of the show. High energy, strong movers, and confident singers who can handle quick character changes. Many featured moments and opportunities to stand out. Ensemble actors will play 7-12 different characters each.

Vocal Types: All ranges (tight harmonies, jazz/pop style)
