The High Performance Rodeo - Calgary's International Festival of the Arts, announces an official visit by Their Excellencies the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, and Mr. Jean-Daniel Lafond, the Honorary Patron of the festival. Their Excellencies will host an Art Matters forum Sunday, January 24, at 2:30 p.m. at the Glenbow Museum. The forum addresses the question: 'What is the power and purpose of using the arts to engage in a social issue?'

Le Conservatoire est une institution nationale qui sert une grande partie du territoire québécois. Nos sept établissements en musique au sein desquels nous offrons une formation en interprétation, dont les programmes de baccalauréat et de maîtrise, pour une vingtaine d'instruments ainsi qu'une formation en chant, en direction d'orchestre, en écriture musicale et en composition, sont répartis à Gatineau, Montréal, Québec, Rimouski, Saguenay, Trois-Rivières et Val-d'Or. Geordie Productions has extended their new theatrical adaptation of the classic holiday favourite, Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Adapted by Alexandria Haber, and in co-production with Concordia University's Department of Theatre, this sophisticated production - and largest of the company's history - will now be presented on Geordie's Mainstage at the D.B. Clarke Theatre now through December 20.
