The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts is pleased to announce the promotion of George Batayias to the position of Technical Director.
Batayias joined the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts as a House Fly Man in 1998 and in 2003 he was promoted to Assistant Technical Director. He has been a critical member of the Marcus Center technical team working with the resident tenant groups, Milwaukee Symphony, Florentine Opera, Milwaukee Ballet, Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, plus the over 70 touring Broadway shows during the past 13 years. Prior to joining the Marcus Center in 1998, he worked as a sound engineer for a regional sound company for the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and other national touring events. Prior to that he freelanced as an Audio Technician for nationally televised, professional sporting events. He has been a member of I.A.T.S.E. since 1990."We are thrilled to have George take on the responsibility of Technical Director for the Marcus Center," said Paul Mathews, Marcus Center President and CEO.
