THE SANTALAND DIARIES to Be Presented at The Circuit Playhouse
The world's crankiest elf is coming back to The Circuit Playhouse! Crumpet, Macy's grumpiest Christmas elf, and his fellow elves will once again be taking residence in the Memphian Room this holiday season. Share drinks with friends as Crumpet recounts his training and his hilarious encounters with surly parents and their greedy children! With a healthy dose of sarcasm and snark, Crumpet manages to reveal the shortcomings of the hustle and bustle surrounding the holidays while gently reminding us of the true meaning of the season. This intimate cabaret-style performance is a night at the theatre like no other.
Stepping into the iconic (and oversized) elf shoes for the first time is local favorite Jonathan Christian. Jonathan was last seen on The Playhouse on the Square stage in Mamma Mia! and Memphis the Musical, audiences might also remember him from his performance in A Tuna Christmas last holiday season. The Santaland Diaries is directed by Dave Landis. Dave most recently directed King Charles III at Playhouse on the Square.
