Social Media & Content Intern – Performing Arts Tech | Performance Bonuses
PerformrOS
Listing Information
PerformrOS is looking for several creative, plugged-in social media interns who know the performing arts world and know what actually makes people stop scrolling.
We’re building technology for actors, students, performers, theatre companies, production teams, and other people who live and work in the performing arts. Our products include PerformrGO, PerformrACT, PerformrSTAGE, PerformrSHOWCASE and more.
We’re looking for interns who can help us turn those products — and the very real problems they solve — into TikToks, FB posts, and Instagram Reels, short-form videos, skits, trends, relatable posts, and other social content people actually want to watch.
This is not an internship where you’ll spend your time making corporate graphics or posting “Happy National Theatre Day” content.
We want ideas.
We want personality.
We want someone who understands the chaos of auditions, rehearsals, self-tapes, productions, college auditions, backstage life and the performing arts community — and can turn that into smart, funny, useful content.
What You’ll Do
Depending on your interests and strengths, you may: Create TikToks, Instagram Reels and other short-form video content
Develop skits around common actor, performer, student and theatre problems
Create content featuring PerformrACT, PerformrSTAGE, PerformrGO and other PerformrOS products
Jump on relevant trends and adapt them for the performing arts community
Brainstorm hooks, concepts and recurring content series
Film yourself or work with existing footage and assets
Help test different messages and content ideas to see what gets people to engage and sign up
Create content aimed at specific audiences such as actors, college audition students, parents, theatre companies and production teams
Bring us the ideas we haven't thought of yet
Who We’re Looking For
You do NOT need years of professional marketing experience. You DO need to understand social media. You may be a great fit if you: Are currently studying or recently studied theatre, musical theatre, acting, communications, marketing, film, media or a related field
Spend enough time on TikTok and Instagram to understand what works — and what immediately feels like an ad
Are comfortable appearing on camera OR are strong at editing, scripting or creating behind the scenes
Understand theatre and performing arts culture
Can take an idea and run with it without needing every detail handed to you
Have a good sense of humor and aren't afraid to try something different
Want real examples of content and campaigns you can add to your portfolio
Compensation
This is an unpaid internship with the opportunity to earn performance-based bonuses. When content you create directly generates a verified paid subscription or signup for an eligible PerformrOS product, you can earn a bonus based on those conversions. For example, content promoting PerformrACT could earn bonuses when it generates new ACT subscribers, while content created for PerformrSTAGE or other products may have its own signup incentive. Specific bonus amounts and attribution guidelines will be explained before you begin so you know exactly how performance is tracked. What You’ll Get
This is meant to give you hands-on experience, not busy work. You'll have the opportunity to: Build real social media campaigns for growing performing arts technology products
Create portfolio-ready content
See which posts actually generate engagement, traffic and customers
Learn how organic social connects to growth and revenue
Experiment with different content formats, hooks and audiences
Work directly with the founders rather than several layers of management
Have your ideas seriously considered and used
About PerformrOS
PerformrOS is building a connected suite of tools for the performing arts. Our platforms are designed around the way performers and performing arts organizations actually work — from managing the college audition process and preparing self-tapes to rehearsing scenes, managing productions and coordinating touring companies. We're a growing company, which means this internship isn't about stepping into a social media system that's already been figured out. You'll help us figure out what works. And if you make something that takes off, you'll know it wasn't because you were the intern who scheduled someone else's post. It was your idea. To apply, please email us a cover letter and your resume. Be sure to include your social handles, and in the first sentence, please start with, "Hire me"... and then why you love theatre and why this is an opportunity you are excited for.
