Associate Company Manager - Ogunquit Playhouse

Ogunquit Playhouse is seeking an Associate Company Manager for the 2022 season. This seasonal position runs approximately mid-March through December 24, 2022.

The Ogunquit Playhouse is a not-for profit organization committed to providing the highest quality musical theatre, with the best talent in the industry.

The Associate will join a team that consists of the Company Manager, the Associate Company Manager(s) and the Assistant Company Manager(s). Previous experience assisting a Company Manager, or similar experience in a theatrical General Management office is required. This position will require candidate to work directly with the Company Management Team to provide support for current productions while simultaneously offering production assistance for upcoming shows.

Job will involve the production and management of multiple shows at once on the premises including Youth Programming, as well as offering general company care to the company rehearsing in New York City as well as various readings and workshops.

Responsibilities of the Associate Company Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate travel/housing needs for cast, crew, creatives and musicians.
  • Emergency response for housing problems.
  • Assist with the weekly payroll processing for musicians.
  • Maintain accurate spreadsheets and paperwork for seasonal staff.
  • Assist Company Manager in preparing contracts, payroll and Actors Equity weekly reports.
  • Maintain and document portions of the budget, reconciling all purchases while keeping accurate records of all receipts.
  • Communicate, plan and execute events with all departments.
  • Facilitate hospitality for tech during change-overs.
  • Keep accurate records of all Workers Comp files.

General Qualifications:

  • Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent communication and time management.
  • Energetic person who is able to thrive in a demanding environment.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and the ability to drive a 14-passenger van. • Ability to work long hours.
  • Able to lift 25lbs.
  • Familiarity with Google Drive, Microsoft Suite, including Excel.
  • Theatre experience in company management, or the equivalent of, is strongly preferred.
  • Self-starter and problem solver with a positive attitude.
  • Possess a professional demeanor when dealing with all staff.
  • Be willing to learn new skills and learn Ogunquit’s data base; Tessitura.

Housing, travel stipend, and competitive salary provided. The work week includes a 40-hour week as well as an on-call rotation. Availability for weekend and holiday shifts is mandatory. All team members work overtime during change-overs which run from Saturday through the following Sunday.
