Artistic Director Andrew Woolner's production of Tartuffe opens in December. Our second co-production with sister company Tokyo International Players, Tartuffe will be presented both in Tokyo, December 3 to 5, and Yokohama, December 10 to 12.

Our production of Tartuffe is framed by the story of a dozen or so travellers stuck in a rural train station in February 1941 Japan. A mix of foreigners and Japanese, they decide to put on a play to pass the time. That play: Tartuffe, Molière's classic farce about a religious con-man turning an entire household upside down.

Join us and allow yourself to be transported back to this time, when comedy was all the more necessary, and all the more funny because it was necessary.

The production will be mostly in English, but unobtrusive and natural (and humourous) use of Japanese will allow a non-English speaking audience to understand, follow, and enjoy the show regardless. So please encourage all your Japanese-speaking friends and relations to come with you-- this is definitely a show for everyone to enjoy!

The Tokyo production will take place at the Ebisu Echo Theatre. Ticket prices for adults start at 3800 Yen. To make a reservation or to pre-pay, please visit tokyoplayers.org.

The Yokohama production will be presented at Yokohama's Nigiwai-za, near Sakuragicho station. You can view a map here. The show times and dates are:

Friday, December 10 @ 19:00
Saturday, December 11 @ 19:00
Sunday, December 12 @ 13:00
Sunday, December 12 @ 19:00
