Hong Kong Dance Company Presents FUN RIDE WITH BIG BEARD - DANCING POEMS

Discover the treasures of Chinese literature with Big Beard this summer! Hong Kong Dance Company proudly presents its annual family entertainment programme Fun Ride with Big Beard - Dancing Poems on 28-29 July at Yuen Long Theatre Auditorium and 3-5 August at Sha Tin Town Hall Auditorium. The programme is one of the highlights of the International Arts Carnival 2018. Featuring dance, drama, poetry-reading and music, Hong Kong Dance Company's 200-strong Children's and Youth Troupes will be joined by celebrated comedy actor Anthony Ho and Hong Kong Dance Company's professional dancers, to take you on an adventure in poetry!

The story begins with Ashley tidying up her room, preparing to move to a new house soon. Peeking out from under her bed is a group of long-forgotten friends - Uncle Rice and Mini Rice, Hiking Shoes, Red Packet, the Sewing Kit twins and Baby Goose, who pretend to be lifeless objects when Ashley and her mother are present. They always sing and dance while Ashley is away, but this time they are worried. They don't want to be dumped as rubbish! Big Beard, a supersized calligraphic brush who reels off Chinese poems every now and then, pops up and recounts their memories with Ashley when she was little. Is Ashley going to desert her little friends? Or will she bring them over to her new home?

Big Beard invites you to go on a time travel tour to the Tang and Song Dynasties to meet great Chinese poets like Li Bai, Du Fu and others.! Don't miss out on all the fun we will be having on this adventurous ride with dazzling sets, props and costumes and amusing videos! Perfect for family with children aged 3 or above!
