Anne is a recent empty-nester finding herself at a precarious point in her life - her entire sense of self-worth is coming undone as she is convinced that her husband is having an affair while away from home on business. Spending hours alone, Anne hopes against hope that her son will come to his senses and split up with his girlfriend and move back home. Florian Zeller mixes styles ranging from realism to surrealism creating a complex landscape of uncertainty.
