Contract Special Agreement $589/wk
Seeking Seattle, WA area Singers/Actors/Dancers for Village Theatre's 2011-12 Season that includes 4 musicals and 1 play. Limited out of town contracts are available but Village Theatre strives to cast locally whenever possible.
Preparation One short monologue and approximately 32 bars of a song. An accompanist will be provided. Headshot, Resume and Sheet Music (in the correct key) Required. Actors auditioning for the non-musical may prepare 2 contrasting monologues. Total audition time MUST NOT exceed 4 minutes.

Breakdown
Village Theatre’s 2011-2012 Season runs from August 2011 through the end of July 2012. All Mainstage productions rehearse for 4 weeks and then run at the Francis J. Gaudette Theatre in Issaquah for at least six weeks and then move to the Everett Performing Arts Center for the last four weeks of each run. Issaquah is located 17 miles east of Seattle, Washington. The Everett Performing Arts Center is in downtown Everett, Washington. MARSHA -- Alto, 40s, Intelligent, maybe a little gullible, Pilates, TM, a cross between Jackie Hoffman and Mary Testa, agent with a heart of gold. MICHAEL -- Baritone, 50s-60s, Crusty veteran. Cynical, been lied to once too often, goes by the book because he’s been lied to when he gave an asylees the benefit of the doubt. Asylum Applicants WU CHEN TANG (WU) -- Baritenor , mid-30s, Chinese poet, sensitive, passionate about human rights, deeply in love with his wife-FAN FAN TANG (FAN) -- Soprano, 20s, Chinese, beautiful, sensitive, surprisingly feisty, idolizes her husband, WU CHEN’S wife ASIF -- Baritenor, 30s, Indian, Muslim, quiet, unpredictable ISABELLA -- Soprano/Alto, early 30s, El Salvador, strong family ties, wants to be safe SALIH -- Baritenor, 20s, Dinka, not worldly, has a sense of humor about adjusting to America ZARA -- Soprano/Alto -late 20s, Algerian, married, pregnant-pretty, confuses easily. JEAN -- Baritenor, 30s, Haitian, lies, not too bright, claims to have been sterilized by the Haitian government, will do anything to get into the United States.
