When Agatha Christie's famed detective Hercule Poirot is summoned to a country chateau in France, he discovers a body on the golf course with a knife in its back – a hole in one indeed! New clues dredge up old intrigue in Murder on the Links, stylishly reimagined by Tony Award-winning director Darko Tresnjak.
HERCULE POIROT: 50-60. A renowned Belgian detective with an equally renowned moustache. Fastidious in manner and in appearance. Ageless. Most importantly, the keenest observer ever put on stage. To be in his presence is to be under a microscope. The overreaching – they merely see an odd little man. The wise – they know to be wary.
PAUL RENAULD: 50. Tall, handsome, and unscrupulous.
SERGENT DE VILLE: 25. Essentially, the French version of the British village bobby. Sweet, enthusiastic, but inexperienced.
COMMISSARY LUCIEN BEX: 50. Smart, warm, and decent. Somewhat unkempt. Under ordinary circumstances, he is very good at his job. He is shellshocked by the war and overwhelmed by the Renauld case. Drinks.
MARTHE DAUBREUIL: 25. Impulsive, attractive, and a touch infantile. Nosy.
MADAME RENAULD: 45. A tall, elegant, and tantalizingly inscrutable blonde. Poirot’s equal in intellect.
MADAME DAUBREUIL: 45. A voluptuous, temperamental redhead with a sordid past.
JACK RENAULD: 22. Tall, dashing, and headstrong.

For a long time, LIL has been obsessed with fighting, and one fighter in particular: her older brother BIG, an aging but successful figure in the local Mixed Martial Arts circuit. But she’s been doing it all from afar...until one day when she decides to show up on his doorstep. Written and directed by Ngozi Anyanwu (Good Grief, The Homecoming Queen, The Last of the Love letters) this world premiere co-production with Manhattan Theater Club is a sibling love story about reunions, resentment, reconnection, and wrestling with demons.
BIG: 30s-40s. Black, tattooed, masculine. LIL's older brother. A Mixed Martial Arts fighter on their way out. Strong, but not that tough. Keeps their feelings close to the chest. Doesn't talk much but when they do, it's searingly honest. Observant. Wishes for more than they've had; different things than they've had. Physically imposing. A strong mover.
LIL: 20s. Black, feminine. BIG's younger sister. A Mixed Martial Arts fighter on their way up. Strong, but not that tough. Scrappy. Wears their heart on their sleeve. Talks a lot but takes a while to get to the truth. Yearning. A cheeky, vibrating ball of potential; give them a shot and watch them capitalize. Physically a match for BIG - strong/tall/solid. A strong mover.

Cy is on the verge of revolutionizing communication! His brilliant invention instantly translates spoken English into American Sign Language (ASL), and vice versa. But his breakthrough means nothing if he cannot connect with the one person he longs for — Roxy, a whip-smart coder, and an integral part of turning their tech dream into reality. As they work side by side, Cy finds himself falling in love, only to watch his best friend, Chris, sweep Roxy off her feet. A modern-day ‘Cyrano’ tale, Elephant Shoes asks: Can love transcend language or will it forever be lost in translation?
With a soaring contemporary score and an immersive blend of spoken English, ASL, and groundbreaking stage technology, this World Premiere co-production between Two River Theater and Deaf West Theatre will ignite your senses and change the way you experience musical theatre.
Some hearing actors will be asked to learn and perform ASL for their roles.
An ASL interpreter will be available at all audition sessions.
CY (Deaf): late 20s - early 30s - Tech developer. Driven, disciplined, and highly goal-oriented. He has devoted most of his adult life to developing tech to revolutionize assisted communication. But as a social introvert with a relentless work ethic, his romantic life has been almost nonexistent.
ROXY (Hearing): mid - late 20s. Contemporary Mezzo-Soprano Belter - Vocal versatility with strong mid to upper range and a powerful belt required. Data architect. Highly intelligent, kind-hearted and empathetic. She's determined and has a strong sense of responsibility, but her anxiety often leads her to overthink and doubt her decisions, especially in social situations.
CHRIS (Hearing/Fluent signer): late 20s - early 30s. Contemporary Versatile Baritenor – Strong belt and emotional expressiveness. Bartender/David's roommate. A child of deaf adults (CODA), he possesses a natural charisma that draws people to him, especially women. Not one to embrace responsibility or commitment, he prefers to indulge in the pleasures of the moment rather than thinking about the future.
JENNA/ MADISON (Hearing): late 20s - early 30s. Contemporary Mezzo with Belt. Chris' girlfriend. Vulnerable, yet resilient. She longs to be in a serious relationship but her feelings for Chris supersede her need for commitment.
SIMONE (Hearing/Fluent signer): late 20s - early 30s. Contemporary Mezzo-Soprano Belter. Vocal versatility and expressivity required. ASL interpreter. Have been working with David for a number of years and are a vital and trusted bridge between him and the hearing people with whom he works. As insightful as they are, they have mastered the art of neutrality. Must have ASL knowledge and fluency.
ROY (Deaf): 50s - Chris' father. ASL teacher. His gruff demeanor and rugged appearance reflect the hard life he's led as a Deaf single father with little financial means. Sarcasm has become his defense mechanism to keep others at arm's length. His pain, anger, and regret after the loss of his wife have been heightened by excessive drinking.
WAYNE (Hearing): 50s. Contemporary Character Baritone. Venture capitalist. As unwoke as it gets. He can easily, but unintentionally, offend almost anyone he comes in contact with.
BEVERLY/ MRS. MILLNER (Hearing): late 50s. Contemporary Character Mezzo. Venture capitalist/Wayne's wife. With a heart as big as her hair, she's eager to do something good with all the money she and Wayne have made. Doubles as Mrs. Millner.
LAURIE (Deaf): 50s. School principal. Her sobriety has become a driving force in her life, and she's passionate about helping others find their own paths to recovery. She's fiercely independent and gravitates toward the unconventional, with a hunger for adventure and a yearning for authentic connections.
LIZ (Deaf): late 20s - early 30s. Coder. She tried for several years to pass as hearing at various jobs. Now, for the first time, she's working for someone Deaf and presents herself as a Deaf woman.
BOB (Hearing/Fluent signer): late 20s - early 30s. Contemporary Baritone. Product manager. Laid-back with a stoner vibe that belies his expertise in the field.
Please note: A separate audition call specifically for deaf performers will be held in NYC and scheduled at a later date. Virtual submissions will also be accepted then.
