PREPARATION

Please prepare a brief vocal selection from a song of your choice. Bring sheet music in the appropriate key — an accompanist will be provided. You may sing from a show in our season if you would like. Please bring your Equity card and your current headshot and résumé, stapled together.

  • SEYMOUR KRELBORN — Male, 25–35. An insecure, put-upon florist's clerk and eventual hero. Genuine, well-meaning, taken for granted because of clumsy ways and poor social skills. Role will be understudied.
  • AUDREY — Female, 25–35. Bleached-blond, Billie-Dawn-like, secret love of Seymour's life. Poor self-worth and education, incredibly good looks, sweet and vulnerable demeanor. Role will be understudied.
  • MR. MUSHNIK — Male, 55–65. Seasoned owner of the failing East Side flower shop and Seymour's nosy boss. Profit-driven, greedy, manipulative. Role will be understudied.
  • ORIN SCRIVELLO — Male, 30–40. An egotistical dentist with a passion for leather and sadistic tendencies. Audrey's abusive boyfriend, targeted by Seymour. Role will be understudied.
  • VOICE OF THE PLANT — Any gender identity, 25–55. An offstage vocalist; voice of a conniving, street-smart villain. A funky R&B voice is best. Role will be understudied.
  • CRYSTAL / RONNETTE / CHIFFON — Any gender identity, Black, 20–35. African-American street urchins acting as occasional Greek Chorus. Young, hip, smart. This trio has a grip on reality. Role will be understudied.
  • ENSEMBLE — Any gender identity, 20–50. Will portray various chorus parts and understudy principals.

  • KENICKIE — Male, 18+ (to play high school teen), any race/ethnicity. Second in command of the Burger Palace Boys; tough-looking, tattooed, surly, with offbeat sense of humor. Tenor.
