BREAKDOWN
TANTRUM THEATER COMPANY 2026-27 SEASON
PETER AND THE STARCATCHER
Written by Rick Elice
First Rehearsal: Tuesday, September 22, 2026
First Preview: Thursday, November 5, 2026
Opening: Friday, November 6, 2026
Final Performance: Saturday, November 21, 2026
SEEKING:
BLACK STACHE (Male, Mid 30s-Early 40s, Any Ethnicity) Long after most everyone else has gotten out of the Pirate business, the Black Stache has stuck it out. He’s ruthless, heartless, and just a little bit stupid. He’s suspiciously well-read, partial to the poetical and the theatrical, but can’t quite get it right. Comedic, comfortable with featured/character singing and physical comedy. Strong British accent.
ALF (Male; Age; 45-55; Strong British accent) A seafarer, an old sea dog proud of his tenure. His kind heart gives him an appeal to the feminine sensibility.
CABARET (1998 VERSION)
Book by Joe Masteroff
Based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood
Music by John Kander
Lyrics by Fred Ebb
First Rehearsal: Tuesday, January 5, 2027
First Preview: Thursday, February 25, 2027
Opening: Friday, February 26, 2027
Closing: Saturday, March 20, 2027
Please Note: Dark/No performances the week of March 7 - March 14
SEEKING:
Fräulein Schneider (Female, 55+, German Accent; Vocal Range: Eb3-B4) Landlady of the boarding house where Sally and Cliff stay; a grounded realist; a tenacious survivor at all costs - even if it means giving up what she actually wants. Strong, decisive, but with deep romantic feelings for Schultz which bring out her youthful optimism. Strong singer – light dance.
Herr Schultz (Male, 55+, German Accent; Vocal Range: C3-G4) A kind, gentle, and optimistic Jewish fruit shop owner, Schultz is in love with Fräulein Schneider. He embodies warmth, decency, and the human cost of rising anti-Semitism. Ever-sunny disposition and a bit of willful naïveté, Schultz does not (want to?) believe his world will turn on him. Strong singer - light dance.
