All actors must have strong comic chops AND a very real vulnerability. All of these people have been damaged by life but we have to care about and root for them.
Seeking:
Sherry:
24, a well-meaning, young art therapist, who recently overcame her depression to whole-heartedly embrace her first job. Often tentative but always hopeful. Persistent, perky and positive. She's a survivor, undeterred but her many mis-steps and mishaps. In short, she is a young woman making her first attempt at becoming an adult.
Grace:
29, her sister. Paralyzed by depression, she spends most of her time sleeping or consuming vast quantities of Jack Daniels on the couch , only emerging to repeatedly watch a TOP GUN DVD, steal her cheating ex-fiancé's cherished items and sing along to a karaoke machine. Prone to tantrums, she still retains a sense of humor (even if it's a bitter one).
Joseph:
50, a middle school principal, upbeat, authoritative and decisive on his job. Outside of school, however, his inner pain is never far from the surface. Extremely concerned about his son and grieving for his dead wife, he is incapable of handling these things by himself.
Zack:
19, Joseph's son. Volatile, uncommunicative yet sensitive, his dark sense of humor helps him to survive. He's sharp edged with a lightning fast intellect, living well below his potential. Zack refuses to confront the source of both the anger and guilt he feels that are consuming him, seeking solace by hiding in his dead mother's shoe closet instead.
