Other Dates
1st rehearsal April 26, 2011
Show runs May 25-June 19.

Petruchio: 30-35. Male, A charming, rough, strong, loose cannon. He has a mysterious excitement about him. The type of guy you immediately like.

Kate: 26-29, Female, pretty but not gorgeous; emotionally charged.

Triple role: Sly/Pedant/Vincentio: Male, 40’s with a lot of energy and charm. Athletic. Physical improv experience. (One actor must play all 3 roles).

Baptista: Loud but nice. Heavy Tony Soprano type.

Bianca: Early 20s, an absolute knock-out. She’s the type of young woman that most guys would like to be with. Must have the ability to be funny.

Lucentio: Mid 20s. Fun, pretty, rich kid type. The type of kid that just graduates from college and travels Europe with his parents’ credit card, and buys drinks for every one he meets. A really nice guy but never used to not being the center of attention.

Grumio: Male, 25-45. Really funny. This is a guy who, without even trying, makes you laugh.

Hortensio: Low/Mid 30s. A stand up guy. The straight man that always hangs out with the cool people and has a charm of his own. He never tries, or at least never succeeds, in outshining his friends.

Gremio: Older wiry clown. This actor has to be naturally funny, and be very open to exploration and having a good time in the rehearsal room. But he must know when to rein it in!

Tranio: Male, Mid 20s. The smartest guy in the room who never needs to prove it. He knows who he is and has no higher ambitions. He should be confident, but not cocky. Handsome.

Biondello: 30s. Just a jerk of character. The opposite of Tranio. Physically sloppy and kind of pudgy. Dumb, but thinks he’s smart. Not funny, but thinks he is.

2 Male and 1 Female swing roles: Ideally can play guitar, bass or drums with a rock or rockabilly style. People up for any experience. They do not have to be great actors, just great people.
