[WILLY] A newsboy in NYC- teens; the narrator of the piece -- first tenor

[JIM] Young (20s), earnest, frustrated, but hopeful. Della’s husband. Making their way in NY -- first baritone

[DELLA] Young (18-20s), optimistic, resourceful. Jim’s wife. Making their way in NY -- second soprano

[SOAPY] A charismatic, realistic drifter. Quick on his feet and witty. Content in his unencumbered life -- baritone

THE CITY: HER (20s-50s) Alto; Multiple roles.

THE CITY: HIM (20s-50s) Baritone; Multiple roles.
