Please prepare short cuts of one or two songs, perform one or two monologues, or prepare a combination of song(s) and monologue(s) from other sources of your preference. An accompanist will be provided.
If you also play a musical instrument and would like to demonstrate that at the audition, you are welcome to do so, but it will not be required until show-specific callbacks.
To be considered for both musicals and non-musicals, SpeakEasy recommends one contemporary monologue, and one 16-bar cut of a contemporary song. Auditions should be no longer than 5 minutes. Also bring your headshot and resume stapled together.

TREVOR. Male. 25. Non-White. Reclusive and neurotic singer-songwriter and sketch artist whose youthful, sometimes naive optimism masks his pain. Has green lizard skin. Tenor. Plays cello, guitar, ukulele.
CARY. Male. Late 20s. White. Charismatic and confident singer-songwriter whose goofiness makes him charming and whose emotional literacy makes him sexy AF. Bari-tenor. Plays advanced guitar, ukulele, piano, glockenspiel, also able to beatbox.
SIREN. Female. 25. Any race. Magnetic and weird singer-songwriter, first jaded and resigned, but below the surface, a terrifying drive is simmering. Mezzo soprano / rock belter. Plays basic piano, basic guitar, ukulele, melodica, various percussion instruments.

MATE. Accustomed to life on a ship, he is the second mate to the captain and has a troubled history.
LITTLE BROTHER. A country boy, he runs off to the whaler ship to escape the mundane routine of living on a farm.
BIG BROTHER. A responsible man, who follows his Little Brother to the sea to keep him focused on God and away from trouble on the ship.
CAPTAIN. Angry and mysterious, he understands a captain must be ready to go down with his ship.
ENSEMBLE. Male. Late 20s to late 40s. Sailors on a whaling ship in the late 1800s.
