BREAKDOWN

SYNOPSIS: Based on the novel ‘The Song of Bernadette’ by Franz Werfel. It tells the true story of Bernadette Soubirous, a young and impoverished girl living in the French town of Lourdes who sees a vision that would change her life, the town of Lourdes, and the world forever.

SEEKING:

[BERNADETTE] Female Identifying 18+ to play 16, Any Ethnicity. Optimistic, the eldest child in her family who are currently struggling. Always speaks her truth… sincere, honest, and innocent. An authentically distinctive pop sound, able to effortlessly pivot between a strong, high belt and a sensitive head voice while maintaining emotional intensity. The range is for a pop soprano.

[ANTOINE] Male Identifying, 19, Any Ethnicity. He is looking after his family’s land and works at their mill after his father passed. Now burdened with the responsibility of being the man of the house, he is not one to stir up trouble until his friend Bernadette inspires him to take a stand for what he feels is right. Pop tenor with a strong and clear upper register, able to be expressive throughout a wide dynamic range and interpret authentic pop/rock phrasing.
