Breakdown
Seeking the following roles:
Roles available for 3 men and 3 women with an authentic country feel and sound and genuine affinity for the music of Johnny Cash. Must be able to play multiple characters and ability to play instruments helpful, including any of the following instruments: fiddle, mandolin, upright bass, banjo, guitar. There is not one specific “Johnny Cash” character; rather, all characters in the show play Johnny Cash and the people in his life in a rotating-character style. Every cast member sings the music either as a solo, duet, or ensemble piece.
Man 1:
20s. Resemblance to a young Johnny Cash is preferred. Bass-baritone, able to convey an authentic country sound and feel. Multi -characters.
Man 2:
30s. Baritone w/country sound. Multi -characters.
Man 3:
40s. Baritone w/country sound. Multi -characters.
Woman 1:
40s. Soprano w/country belt/mix. Multi -characters.
Woman 2:
20s-30s. Mezzo-w/authentic country sound. Multi -characters.
Woman 3:
20s-30s. Soprano w/country belt/mix. Multi -characters.
