PlayMakers Repertory Company seeks to hire actors who reflect our world to tell the stories we put onstage. Auditions are open to individuals from all backgrounds. North Carolina Triangle–based actors are encouraged to audition.
An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

MARETHA — (Female-identifying character, 10–13, Black). Berniece’s daughter. Bright, curious, and full of potential.
WINING BOY — (Male-identifying character, late 50s–60s, Black). A charming, wandering musician who carries himself with flair. Older brother to Doaker. Always ready with a joke or a song.

CLOWN 2 — (Male-identifying character, any age, any/all ethnicities). A rapid succession of characters throughout the play. Imaginative and highly physical, the Clown characters live in the heightened, fast-paced style of farce.
