Play takes place in 1660, shortly after the fall of Cromwell and the restoration of the monarchy.
Bradshaw:
CAST. Woman. Widow of John Bradshaw. Stern. Undergoes transformation as she seeks her husband’s body.
Charles II of England / Others:
CAST. Recently returned to the throne. Impetuous, powerful.
Ball / Others:
CAST. Man. Cavalier, violent, sentimental. Becomes obsessed with Bradshaw.
Clegg / Others:
CAST. Court poet, King’s man.
Hambro / Others:
CAST. Man. Architect of Republican downfall. Astute politician; becomes entangled in court intrigue.
Brighton / Others:
CAST. Woman. Landowner, loyal to the King
Territories by Steve Dykes. Dir: Cheryl Faraone.
Two one-acts. Examination of personal relationships and their disintegration under totalitarian governments.

Note: Characters appear in the play in both their mid 20s and late 30s.
Female 1:
CAST. Rebels against governmental tyranny.
Female 2:
CAST. Prefers the status quo. Married to Male.
Male:
CAST. Torn between the two women. Equivocal about the governmental situation.

Shilling:
CAST. Man. Translator assigned to interview women of a toppled regime.
Loti:
CAST. Woman. Head of the secretarial corps, loyal to the regime. Has no doubts.

Psychological mystery. Screenwriter becomes obsessed with an accused murderer.
Dunn:
CAST. Man. Screenwriter mourning the death of his lover. At loose ends.
Tate:
CAST. Man. University professor accused of murdering a student. Violent and enigmatic.
