To schedule an audition appointment, please email
auditions@gammtheatre.org. In your email, please offer a time block of 2 hours on one of the days. We will reply with a specific appointment time slot or waiting list time block. EMAIL IS PREFERRED. If you do not have email, please call 401-723-4266 x152.
Members of Equity will be given appointments times. Any Equity member without an appointment will be seen first off of the waiting list.

SEEKING

Equity actors for roles in The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre's (The Gamm) 2025-26 Season (See breakdown).

PREPARATION

Please prepare ONE monologue of your choice that fits within the allotted time frame. We expect to be filled throughout the audition days so please time your auditions properly. Only Equity members may choose to read from a script. The Gamm will provide a reader. Those Equity members who wish to read a side are encouraged to prepare their own and either bring a copy for the reader or let us know the scene/page numbers upon check–in so we may be prepared to assist you. Each performer will be allotted a minimum of 3 minutes and a maximum of 5 minutes. Please also provide a hard copy of your headshot/resume at the time of your audition. Copies of the play(s) will be available at the auditions.

ABOUT THE GAMM THEATRE

Founded in 1984 as Alias Stage, the non-profit Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre creates the finest of live theater, engaging the audience intensely in current and recurrent issues of consequence. The Gamm further serves the public with educational outreach programming designed to support the theatrical experience and help sustain and enhance the intellectual and cultural life of its community. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Tony Estrella and Executive Director Jason Cabral, The Gamm is a regionally recognized, award-winning theater and a proud member of New England Area Theatre (NEAT), a bargaining unit of the Actors’ Equity Association.

CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF

SEEKING:

  • Brick – Late 20s-30s, broken-down football player, alcoholic, off his feet.
  • Maggie – Late 20s, the “cat on a hot tin roof,” alive, vivacious, relentless.
  • Big Daddy – 60s, patriarch, larger than life, takes over every room, domineering and dying, but still potent life force.
  • Big Mama – 60s, Big Daddy’s wife, also lives largely. A big personality and emotionally transparent.
  • Gooper – 35-40, Big Daddy’s oldest son and Brick’s neglected big brother.
  • May – Brick’s wife, keen and ready to defend her husband.
  • Doc Baugh – 50s, genial, retiring, an old family friend.
  • Rev. Tooker – 50s, tries to be a stabilizing presence.

  • Regina Engstrand – 20, housekeeper for the Alvings; strong connection with Oswald and family.
  • Jacob Engstrand – 50, Regina’s “father.” Laborer, dreamer, schemer.

  • Bartley – 17, Billy’s friend.
  • Helen – 18, a village girl, on fire.
  • Babbybobby – early 30s, handsome, strong.
  • Doctor – Early 40s, measured, exasperated.
  • Mammy – 80s-90s, Johnnypateenmike’s mother, likes her drink.

FRANKIE & JOHNNY IN THE CLAIRE DE LUNE

Note: This play is a tender and intimate piece and requires some nudity from the performers.

SEEKING:

  • Frankie – Late 30s-early 40s, striking but not conventional good looks, she has a sense of humor and a fairly tough exterior. She is also frightened and can be very hard to reach.
  • Johnny – Late 40s, his best feature is his personality, he works at it. He is in good physical condition.
