Equity actors for roles in Florida Repertory Theatre's 2025-26 Season (See breakdown).

PREPARATION

Please prepare two brief contrasting monologues OR, if you are singing, please prepare one monologue and a musical theatre song appropriate for our season's musicals that show your strengths as a singer. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring your sheet music (clearly marked for start/stop/tempos, etc.) AND a headshot & resume stapled together.

SYNOPSIS: The premise of the show is that Frank, Dean and Sammy come back to earth and inhabit the bodies of living people. Therefore, none of the actors need to look anything like our stars, they just need to embody their essence.

SEEKING:

VIC CANDELINO: Down on his luck owner of Vic’s Place. When Vic was a kid, Frank told him he would ‘one day be a star.’ He is now bankrupt and ready to throw in the towel.

BOBBY GOLDBERG/SAMMY DAVIS, JR.: The bartender at Vic’s Place, Bobby has known Vic since he was a kid. Energetic and caring. His body is taken over by Sammy Davis Jr.

WILLIAM SAUNDERS/FRANK SINATRA: Real estate developer who wants to demolish Vic’s Place and build a parking lot for the Hooters next door. His body is taken over by Frank Sinatra.

KATHERINE KERR/ANGIE: Mr. Saunders’ secretary. Very type A. Her body is taken over by Angie – An angel sent from above who uses her feminine wiles to influence men.

JEORGE RODRIGUES/DEAN MARTIN: Easy going guy. English is a second language. He loves the Rat Pack. His body is taken over by Dean Martin.

DOUBT, A PARABLE

SISTER ALOYSIUS BEAUVIER: Female. She is in her fifties or sixties. She is watchful, reserved, unsentimental. She is of the order of the Sisters of Charity. She wears a black bonnet and floor-length black habit, rimless glasses.

SISTER JAMES: Female. 20s. Also, of the Sisters of Charity, pokes her head in. There’s a bit of sunshine in her heart, though she’s reserved as well.

MRS. MULLER: Female. A black woman of about thirty-eight, in her Sunday best, dressed for church.

SEYMOUR KRELBORN: Male. 20s-30s. An insecure, put-upon florist's clerk and eventual hero. He is a genuine, well-meaning man who is taken for granted because of his clumsy ways and poor social skills. Vocal range: A2-G4.

AUDREY: Female 20s-30s. Bleached-blond, Billie-Dawn-like, secret love of Seymour's life. She has poor self-worth and education, but incredibly good looks and a sweet and vulnerable demeanor. Age: 25 to 35 Vocal range: G#3-D5.

MR. MUSHNIK: Male 50s-60s. The frustrated owner of the failing East Side flower shop and Seymour's nosy boss. He is profit-driven, greedy, and manipulative. Vocal range: G2-F4.

ORIN SCRIVELLO: Male 30s-40s. An egotistical dentist with a passion for leather and sadistic tendencies. Audrey's abusive boyfriend, who is targeted by Seymour. Vocal range: G2-G4.

VOICE OF THE PLANT: Male sounding voice. A vocalist located offstage. The voice is that of a conniving, street-smart 'villain.' A funky Rhythm and Blues voice is best. Vocal range: G2-G4.

RONNETTE, CRYSTAL, and CHIFFON: Female 20s-30s. Black street urchins, acting as the occasional Greek Chorus. Young, hip, and smart, these girls are the only ones who have a grip on reality. Vocal range: Ab3-F5.
