BREAKDOWN
MARC (35, MALE) - Marc is thoughtful and reserved but struggling to find his place in the world. He’s an idealist at heart, though weighed down by self-doubt and a sense of failure. Over the course of the play, Marc begins to find clarity and a stronger voice as he faces the challenges in front of him. Seeking an actor with range, capable of portraying quiet introspection as well as moments of determination and vulnerability.
LORRAINE (59, FEMALE) - An empty nester, married to Bill, Lorraine is sharp, confident, and fiercely protective. She’s someone who speaks her mind and isn’t afraid to take charge, but she also carries an undercurrent of vulnerability as the play unfolds. Seeking an actor with strong presence, capable of portraying Lorraine’s ferocity, pain, wit, and emotional depth.
BILL (63, MALE) - Semi-retired and married to Lorraine, Bill is a larger-than-life presence who thrives on laughter, indulgence, and spontaneity. Gregarious and endlessly charming, he’s the first to pour another drink or propose a wild idea, often acting as the life of the party. Beneath his exuberance, however, lies a subtle uncertainty about his role within the group and his ability to navigate the looming crisis. Seeking an actor with impeccable comedic timing and a magnetic stage presence who can embody Bill’s infectious energy while hinting at the deeper vulnerability behind his carefree facade.
