ISABELLE: CAST: Jean Smart
ISABELLE COVER - Female/female identifying, white, 60s-70s. Born and raised in Mansfield, Louisiana, Isabelle, or Izzy, has lived her life largely abiding by the traditions & beliefs of the rural South. A “good girl” who followed all the rules in her youth, IZZY has grown into a good-natured, funny and tenacious woman who nevertheless still tries not to make waves, especially with the husband with whom she lives in a trailer park. As a refuge from the pains and difficult realities of her daily life, IZZY takes up again her first love, writing, reigniting her fiery imagination, first as a means of figurative escape and eventually so much more.

PREPARATION

Actors should prepare contemporary monologues. No longer than 2 minutes in length. Submissions are due April 22nd, 2025.

The employer will accept 126 video submissions from Equity members. Members will sign up online for one of the 126 slots. Only members who get one of the 126 slots will receive a confirmation e-mail with the preparation and submission information. After members' submissions have been viewed, the employer will notify each member who viewed their audition. An Equity Monitor will be provided.
