Equity chorus dancers for CAGNEY (see breakdown). Bay Street Theater welcomes performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, abilities/exceptionalities, and body types. Actors of diverse cultural and racial backgrounds are encouraged to audition. In addition to the genders listed in character breakdowns, we are actively seeking transgender and non-binary performers for all roles.

Seeking dancers who sing well, with advanced classic movie musical tap ability, for supporting and featured ensemble roles. This is a tap-heavy musical. Principal understudies will be cast internally and from the ensemble.
Male-identifying character, White, 30s. Cagney’s younger brother. Grounded, practical, and loyal — the emotional anchor of the family. Tenor. Advanced tap skills required.
Male-identifying character, White, 40s. High-energy, fast-talking entertainer with strong comedic instincts and classic vaudeville charm. Tenor. Advanced tap skills required.
Female-identifying character, any race & ethnicity, 20s–30s. Warner’s assistant. Smart, capable, and dryly funny — the person keeping Warner’s world running. Soprano with belt. Advanced tap skills required.
Female-identifying character, White, 30s–early 40s. Cagney’s wife. Strong, confident, quick-witted, and a true match for Cagney in every way. Soprano with belt. Advanced tap skills required.
Male-identifying character, any race & ethnicity, 30s–40s. Plays a wide range of characters, from a vaudeville impresario to a Russian.
Any race & ethnicity, 30s. All-around strong performer with advanced tap skills, to understudy principal roles. Prior swing experience is helpful.
