Male, age 26-40, Tenor, The host of the Kit Kat Club. Sexual, charismatic, sexually ambiguous, an entertainer, sometimes ghoulish, German accent

Sally Bowles:

Female, age 18-28, Alto, The headlining singer & dancer at the Kit Kat Club. British, free spirited, racy, flirtatious, infectious

Clifford Bradshaw:

Male, age 25-35, Baritone, A young, sincere American writer who also teaches English lessons

Fraulein Schneider:

Female, age 45-70, Alto, A moralistic yet pragmatic landlady. She has learned to take whatever life offers. German accent

Herr Schultz:

Male, age 50-70, Baritone, A Jewish green grocer. Kind, optimistic, reassuring. German accent

Ernst Ludwig:

Male, age 30-45, Non-singing, A friendly and likable German who pays Clifford for English lessons. Has a dark side. He likes a good party. German accent

Fraulein Kost:

Female, age 21-45, Alto/Mezzo, A German prostitute living in Fraulein Schneider’s house. Fun, scared, trying to get by as best she can. German accent
