  • [CONSUELO GARCIA] female, Cuban/Latina, 50s-70s. Emilio's spirited mother and the family matriarch. Offers comic relief while embodying the strength of the Cuban immigrant experience. Comfort with Spanish a plus. Character singer with strong ensemble ability.
  • [GLORIA FAJARDO] female, Cuban/Latina, 40s to 60s. Gloria's devoted mother. Brassy and strong-willed, she is often overprotective. Biting humor. Comfort with Spanish a plus. Latin/pop style.
  • [JOSÉ FAJARDO] male, Cuban/Latino, 40s-60s. Gloria's father. A former Cuban soldier whose life changes dramatically after suffering from multiple sclerosis. Though his physical condition deteriorates, his pride, intelligence, and love for his family remain evident. Limited singing or character singing.

MARY POPPINS

Original Music and Lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman
Book: Julian Fellowes
New Songs and Additional Music and Lyrics: Anthony Drewe and George Stiles
Co-Created by Cameron Mackintosh
Director: Evan Pappas
Choreographer: Debbie Roshe
Music Director: Jonathan Brenner
Casting Director: Michael Cassara, CSA
First rehearsal: on/about 10/19/2026
First Performance: 11/12
Closes: 1/3

SEEKING:

  • [MARY POPPINS] any ethnicity/race, 20s-30s, female. Jane and Michael Banks's new nanny. She is extraordinary and strange, neat and tidy, delightfully vain yet particular, and sometimes a little frightening but always exciting. She is practically perfect in every way and always means what she says. A mezzo soprano with strong top notes and precise diction, she should be able to move well.
  • [BERT] any ethnicity/race, 30s, male. The narrator of the story, BERT is a good friend to Mary Poppins. An everyman, Bert has many occupations, including hurdy-gurdy player, sidewalk artist and chimney sweep. Bert watches over the children as well as the goings on in Cherry Tree Lane. He has charm, speaks with a Cockney accent and is a song-and-dance man. Strong character singer with excellent movement ability. Baritone to F#.
  • [ADMIRAL BOOM/BANK CHAIRMAN] any ethnicity/race, 40s+, male. [ADMIRAL BOOM] a retired Royal Navy man and neighbor of the Banks family. A physically large man with a loud and booming voice, he speaks in Navy jargon and has a soft spot for his neighbor, Miss Lark. Also plays [BANK CHAIRMAN] The head of the bank where Mr. Banks is employed, is an Edwardian stuffed-shirt. Strong character baritone.
  • [MRS. BRILL] any ethnicity/race, 30s-50s, female. The housekeeper and cook for the Banks family. Overworked and harassed, she's always complaining that the house is understaffed. Her intimidating exterior is a cover for the warmth underneath. Mrs. Brill doesn't have a high opinion of nannies in general and Mary Poppins in particular.
  • [BIRD WOMAN] any ethnicity/race, 40s-50s, female. Covered in a patchwork of old shawls, her pockets are stuffed with bags of crumbs for the birds. She tries to sell her crumbs to passersby, who ignore her as if she doesn't exist. Sings Feed the Birds. There can be a gruff, folksy quality to her voice that reflects the hardness of her life.
  • [WINIFRED BANKS] any ethnicity/race, 30s-40s, female. George's wife and Jane and Michael's mother. A former actress, she is a loving and distracted homemaker who is busy trying to live up to her husband's desire to only associate with the best people as well as be the model wife and mother. She suffers from the conflicting feelings that she's not up to the job of being Mrs. Banks, yet, she is, and more. She has great warmth and simplicity to her tone.
  • [GEORGE BANKS] any ethnicity/race, 40s, male. Father to Jane and Michael Banks, is a banker to the very fiber of his being. Demanding precision and order in his household, he is a pipe-and-slippers man who doesn't have much to do with his children and believes that he had the perfect upbringing by his nanny, the cruel Miss Andrew. His emotional armor, however, conceals a sensitive soul. Baritone, who sings well.
  • [JANE BANKS] any ethnicity/race, 11-12, female. The high-spirited daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Banks, is bright and precocious but can be willful and inclined to snobbishness. Sings well.
  • [MICHAEL BANKS] any ethnicity/race, 9-10, male. The cute and cheeky son of Mr. and Mrs. Banks. Excitable and naughty, he adores his father and tries to be like him. Both he and Jane misbehave in order to get the attention of their parents. Sings well.
  • [ROBERTSON AY] any ethnicity/race, 20s, male. The houseboy to the Banks family. Lazy, sleepy and grumbling, he never gets things right and believes himself to be useless. He doesn't do a lot of singing, but his Spoonful solo can be a fun surprise.
  • [MISS ANDREW AND OTHERS] any ethnicity/race, 40s, female. [MISS ANDREW] George's overbearing and scary nanny. With her bottle of nasty-tasting brimstone and treacle to keep naughty children in line, she is a bully who only knows one way of doing things - her way. A soprano with an alto belt, there can be some heaviness to her voice along with range.

  • [CHAD] male, 20s, any race/ethnicity. A charismatic, motorcycle-riding drifter whose arrival turns the town upside down. Overflowing with rock-and-roll swagger and charm, Chad is ultimately searching for genuine connection. Strong rock tenor/baritenor.
  • [JIM HALLER] male, mid 40s-50s, any race/ethnicity. Natalie's widowed father and hardworking garage owner. Loving but emotionally guarded, Jim learns to open his heart and embrace unexpected romance. Strong baritone with musical theatre and rock sensibilities.
  • [SYLVIA] female, Black, mid 40s. The confident owner of Sylvia's Honky-Tonk and a mentor to many in the community. Wise, funny, and full of heart, she rediscovers love while inspiring others to do the same. Strong gospel/R&B-influenced alto or mezzo with a commanding belt.
  • [LORRAINE] female, Black, 18+ to play 16. Sylvia's spirited, optimistic daughter who refuses to let prejudice stand in the way of love. Her romance with Dean becomes a powerful force for acceptance and change. Strong contemporary musical theatre soprano/mezzo.

Sweet, loyal, and earnest, Dennis gradually finds the confidence to pursue both his dreams and his heart. Strong tenor with solid comedic musical theatre skills.

Beneath her poised exterior is a romantic longing for adventure, making her one of the catalysts for the town's transformation. Strong soprano or mezzo with contemporary musical theatre style.
