Equity actors for roles in Actors Theatre of Indiana's 2026–27 Season. See breakdown for production-specific dates and role details below.

PREPARATION

Please prepare one comic monologue and one song in the style of Classic Broadway or the Great American Songbook. Total time should be no longer than two minutes. An accompanist will be provided; accompaniment tracks are welcome and a Bluetooth speaker will be available.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

WE ARE FAMILY: THE 70's BEEHIVE MUSICAL

SEEKING

Wanda: THIS ROLE IS CAST. Female presenting, open to all ethnicities, 18+, mezzo-soprano. A strong singer who carries the bulk of the dialogue and narration throughout the revue. A leader—strong, powerful, engaging, able to interact comfortably with the audience.

Jasmine: THIS ROLE IS CAST. Female presenting, open to all ethnicities, 18+, mezzo-soprano.

Laura: Female presenting, open to all ethnicities, 18+, soprano.

Allison: THIS ROLE IS CAST. Female presenting, open to all ethnicities, 18+, alto.

Pattie: THIS ROLE IS CAST. Female presenting, open to all ethnicities, 18+, mezzo-soprano.

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS

SEEKING

Seymour Krelborn: THIS ROLE IS CAST. Male presenting, open to all ethnicities, 25–35, baritenor. An insecure, put-upon florist's clerk and eventual hero. Genuine, well-meaning, often taken for granted due to clumsy ways and poor social skills.

Audrey: THIS ROLE IS CAST. Female presenting, open to all ethnicities, 25–35, alto. Bleached-blond, Billie-Dawn-like; Seymour's secret love. Poor self-worth and education but very attractive and sweetly vulnerable.

Mr. Mushnik: THIS ROLE IS CAST. Male presenting, open to all ethnicities, 55–65, baritone. Seasoned owner of the failing East Side flower shop and Seymour's nosy, profit-driven, manipulative boss.

Orin Scrivello: Male presenting, open to all ethnicities, 30–40, baritenor. An egotistical dentist with a passion for leather and sadistic tendencies; Audrey's abusive boyfriend and Seymour's target.

The Plant (Audrey II): Male presenting, open to all ethnicities, 20–50, baritenor, puppet. An anthropomorphic cross between a Venus flytrap and an avocado with an appetite for human flesh. Puppeteer doubles for other sizes of the plant.

Voice of The Plant (Audrey II): A vocalist located offstage. The voice of a conniving, street-smart 'villain.' A funky Rhythm and Blues voice is preferred.

Crystal, Ronette & Chiffon: Female presenting, open to all ethnicities, 20–30, various voice types. Streetwise trio acting as occasional Greek chorus—young, hip, and smart; the only ones who often have a grip on reality.

THE MALTESE FALCON: A MUSICAL NIGHTMARE

Sam Spade: Male presenting, open to all ethnicities, 40–55. A hard-boiled detective.

Effie Perrine: Female presenting, open to all ethnicities, 30–45. His gal Friday.

Brigid O'Shaunessey: Female presenting, open to all ethnicities, 30–40. A femme fatale.

Joel Cairo: THIS ROLE IS CAST. Male presenting, open to all ethnicities, 45–60. An unscrupulous treasure-seeker.

Casper Gutman: THIS ROLE IS CAST. Male presenting, open to all ethnicities, 50–65. A gentleman mob boss.

Desirée Armfeldt: THIS ROLE IS CAST. Female presenting, open to all ethnicities, 45–55. A grand dame of the theatre—sharp and stylish.

Fredrik Egerman: Male presenting, open to all ethnicities, 45–55. A middle-aged lawyer in a mid-life crisis.

Anne Egerman: THIS ROLE IS CAST. Female presenting, open to all ethnicities, early 20s. Fredrik’s young and innocent wife who still sees love as something out of a fairy tale.

Henrik Egerman: Male presenting, open to all ethnicities, early 20s. Fredrik’s son; a moody theology student with a serious case of guilt.

Count Carl-Magnus Malcolm: Male presenting, open to all ethnicities, 30s–early 40s. An egotistical army officer who believes he’s a gift to women.

Countess Charlotte Malcolm: THIS ROLE IS CAST. Female presenting, open to all ethnicities, 30s. Carl-Magnus’s sharp-tongued wife who’s too smart to be stuck in her situation.

Madame Armfeldt: Female presenting, open to all ethnicities, late 70s–80s. Desirée’s mother; an aging ex-courtesan who once had kings wrapped around her finger.

Fredrika Armfeldt: Female presenting, open to all ethnicities, 13. Desirée’s 13-year-old daughter—no ordinary kid.

Petra: Female presenting, open to all ethnicities, 20s–30s. Anne’s bold, street-smart maid who says exactly what she thinks.

The Liebeslieders (the “love song singers” / The Quintet): Open to all ethnicities and ages. These singers drift like a Greek chorus. Roles include Mrs. Nordstrom (soprano), Mrs. Anderssen (mezzo-soprano), Mrs. Segstrom (contralto/mezzo), Mr. Lindquist (tenor), and Mr. Erlanson (tenor/high baritone).
