Submission is by mail only. Absolutely no emails, phone calls or office visits/drop off's!

Be sure to put the title of the show and the role you're interested in on the front of the envelope.

Salary Note: Although this production will be performed in the Playhouse's intimate Shelterhouse Theatre (LORT D Contract), salaries will be more in the LORT B+ range.

All actors should be have strong Shakespearean language skills but also the ability to make these characters very real people. One role (probably Phoebe or Amiens) will be cast with a NON-UNION actor but we will see both Equity and Non-Equity actors for these roles. ROSALIND (Sarah Dandridge) and ADAM (Joneal Joplin) have been cast.

SEEKING:

Orlando:

A charismatic young man (late 20s-mid 30s) though tongue tied with women. Determined, ardent and true.

Touchstone:

A keen observer with a dry wit (late 20s-mid 30s)

Oliver:

Orlando’s older brother. Mid 30s-late 30s. Changes from a rogue who loathes his brother for his good qualities but is transformed into a good man in the forest.

Celia:

Mid 20s-early 30s. The daughter of Duke Frederick. A loyal and true friend of Rosalind and her joyful foil.

Jacques:

Looking at a variety of ages—from late 20s-late 40s. The philosopher/intellectual and seeker of experience through the observation of others. Innate cynicism rather than a poseur.

Duke Senior:

The banished Duke and elder to Frederick. A kind wise soul. 50s.

Duke Frederick:

The evil usurper. Mid-late 40s.

Le Beau/Silvius:

A refined courtier and gentle love sick shepherd. Late 20s-mid 30s.

Charles/Corin:

A brawny wrestler and simple shepherd. Late 30s-40s.

Phebe:

A young country girl who is most full of herself. Late 20s-early 30s.

Amiens/1st Lord Of The Forrest:

A Strong Singer and fine guitarist. 30s
