2013-14 Season:

THE WOMAN IN BLACK

A Ghost Play

by Stephen Mallatratt from the book by Susan Hill

directed by Jim Christy

October 29 – November 24, 2013

The framework of this spine tingler is unusual: a lawyer hires an actor to tutor him in recounting to family and friends a story that has long troubled him concerning events that transpired when he attended the funeral of an elderly recluse. There he caught sight of the woman in black, the mere mention of whom terrifies the locals, for she is a specter who haunts the neighborhood where her illegitimate child was accidentally killed. Anyone who sees her dies! The lawyer has invited some friends to watch as he and the actor recreate the events of that dark and stormy night. A classic of the genre.

Seeking 2 men, 1 woman

Actor: Middle-Aged man. Clearly not an actor. Here to recount a tale from his past.

Kipps: Young man. An actor. Here to help tell the story.

The Woman: Ghostly figure. Silent role.

THE TWELVE DATES OF CHRISTMAS

by Gina Hoben

directed by Tony Braithwaite

December 10 – December 29, 2013

After seeing her fiancé kiss another woman at the televised Thanksgiving Day Parade, Mary's life falls apart -- just in time for the holidays. Over the next year, she stumbles back into the dating world, where "romance" ranges from weird and creepy to absurd and comical. It seems nothing can help Mary's growing cynicism, until the charm and innocence of a five-year-old boy unexpectedly brings a new outlook on life and love. This heartwarming one-woman play offers a hilarious and modern alternative to the old standards of the holiday season.

Seeking 1 woman

Mary: A single thirty-something enduring a year of life and adulthood dating. Portrays various characters throughout the piece.

HOTEL SUITE

by Neil Simon

directed by Matt Silva

February 18 – March 16, 2014

This lively comic medley is a collection of one-act plays taken from Neil Simon’s previous "Suite" plays: Plaza Suite, California Suite and London Suite. The production offers an entertaining look at two very different couples and the circumstances that bring them together and pull them apart.

Diana Nichols: British, early forties or thereabouts. Successful actress.

The following role has been CAST. Actors will be considered for possible replacements if needed:

THE MAN OF LA MANCHA

Written by Dale Wasserman

Music by Mitch Leigh and lyrics by Joe Darion

directed by Aaron Cromie

April 29, 2014 – June 8, 2014

The story takes place in the late 16th century. Miguel de Cervantes (a tax collector, soldier, and author) and his assistant, Sancho, foreclose on a church that failed to pay its taxes. Thus, the two men are thrown into prison by the Spanish Inquisition. The prisoners then steal Cervantes's possessions. However, he convinces them to allow him to win back a package of papers that would not be of value to other people. Pleading his case, Cervantes gives a dramatic defense by reenacting the story of Don Quixote of La Mancha. Moved by the story, the prisoners return Cervantes' manuscript (which turns out to be his unfinished novel about Don Quixote) just before he is called before the Inquisition.

Seeking 5 men, 3 women

Don Quixote (Cervantes): A tall, gaunt, eccentric, charming and charismatic man. Baritone: Low B to F

Sancho Panza: Don Quixote’s pragmatic but loyal servant and sidekick. Tenor: C to High G

Aldonza (Dulcinea): A wild, lusty woman with a jaded look at life from experience. Soprano: Low Ab to High Ab

Various other roles: Ensemble will play multiple roles.
