INSTRUCTIONS
Please submit your headshot, resume and link to your video audition (YouTube or Vimeo) for consideration. Please prepare 2 monologues (1 Shakespeare, 1 contemporary), no longer than 3 minutes total. Please note that, due to the number of submissions, we are unable to respond to all submissions. We will contact you if we would like to schedule an in-person Callback audition. The Equity video submission deadline is Tuesday, May 27th, 2025, at 11:59pm ET.

BREAKDOWN
2ND MURDERER
SYNOPSIS: Murph, a struggling actor in NYC, is hoping for his big break when he auditions for the titular role in a production of Richard III. Instead, he is devastated when he is cast as a walk-on part: 2nd Murderer. Reality begins to blend with fantasy as Murph, deep in despair, dives into the literal world of Richard III. In his quest for self-agency, and with the help of other Shakespearean characters, Murph confronts the lethal king head-on.

- ANN / LADY ANNE: Female identifying. Any ethnicity. 20s: A young, street-smart actress precast in The Weathered Bear’s Richard III. Doubles as LADY ANNE in Act II. We will also be casting an understudy.
- CYNTHIA / QUEEN ELIZABETH: Female identifying. Any ethnicity. 30s-50s. The harried, diligent co-founder of The Weathered Bear Ensemble and director of Richard III. Doubles as QUEEN ELIZABETH in Act II. We will also be casting an understudy.
- DICK / RICHARD III: Male identifying. Any ethnicity. 40s-50s. The skeevy executive producer and precast star of The Weathered Bear’s Richard III. Doubles as RICHARD III in Act II. We will also be casting an understudy.
- JUSTINE / CLARENCE: Female and/or non-binary identifying. Any ethnicity. 20s-40s. A reserved and self-assured actress cast in The Weathered Bear’s Richard III. Doubles as CLARENCE in Act II. We will also be casting an understudy.
- KLAUDE / KING EDWARD IV / MOND: Male identifying. Any ethnicity. 30s-50s. Charming, melodramatic actor and co-founder of The Weathered Bear Ensemble, precast in Richard III. Doubles as KING EDWARD IV and MOND in Act II. We will also be casting an understudy.
- MAX / 1ST MURDERER: Male, non-binary, and/or trans identifying. Any ethnicity. 20s. A young, not-yet-jaded actor and former rocket scientist cast in The Weathered Bear’s Richard III. Doubles as 1ST MURDERER in Act II. We will also be casting an understudy.
- MURPH / 2ND MURDERER: Male, non-binary and/or trans identifying. Any ethnicity. 20s-30s. A dreaming, struggling, self-pitying actor cast in the Weathered Bear’s Richard III. Doubles as 2ND MURDERER in Act II. We will also be casting an understudy.
- NORBERT / HASTINGS: Male identifying. Any ethnicity. 20s-40s. The sniveling, try-hard dramaturg and lead understudy of The Weathered Bear’s Richard III. Doubles as HASTINGS in Act II. We will also be casting an understudy.
