Joe Corsello & Rick Petrone Bring Their SummerJazz Program to the Palace

By:

Stamford native and jazz drummer Joe Corsello and bassist Rick Petrone will host their SummerJazz camp at The Palace Theatre on Atlantic Street in Stamford this July 11th through July 22nd for students ages 12-18. The camp, the program's 7th year, is part of SCA's 2011 Arts Education Program.

Two weeks of music and fun include master classes, improvisation, music history appreciation, and participation in ensemble performances. Clinics and seminars are hosted by some of the great jazz performers and clinicians in the area. At the end of each week, the students are given the opportunity to showcase what they've learned during performances at the Palace.
All classes and seminars will occur at The Palace Theatre, Monday-Friday from 9:00am-1:00pm, July 11-22. The cost for both weeks is $600, and the cost for one week is $350. Scholarships are available and family/sibling/referral discounts are offered. All instruments and all levels are welcome, but students must be able to read music and bring their own instruments.
