Looking to the month ahead Shadowbox Live is in final preparation for The Best of Shadowbox Live 2017. Opening Thursday, June 8 a 7:30pm, and running Fridays at 7:30 and Saturdays a 7:30 and 10:30 through August 26th, this show features the best sketch comedy and rock 'n' roll from our past year. Content is taken from Spring 2016's Scandalous, Fall 2016's The Shadow Zone, and Winter 2017's Body Heat. Filling the time slot of 10:30 Fridays, Shadowbox Live will perform a one-hour version of the show called The Best of Shadowbox Live 2017 NIGHTCAP.

Shadowbox Live producers played with the notion of doing a condensed version of the sketch shows during the current run of Guilty Pleasures. The experiment resulted in a fast-paced, high-energy show with no intermission - perfect for those wanting to get home by midnight or those looking to continue their evening adventure at another destination. Both the full version and the NIGHTCAP version of The Best of Shadowbox Live 2017 promise to tickle your funny bone and rock you into the night.

Speaking of rocking you into the night, Shadowbox Live continues it's run of the popular Broadway hit musical Rock of Ages. Set in L.A. in the late '80s, Rock of Ages tells the stories of would-be rockers, star-struck actresses and urban developers hell-bent on "saving" the Sunset Strip and transforming it into an urban oasis instead of the heart of rock 'n' roll. Rock of Ages is campy, over-the-top fun and features popular rock tunes from the Aqua net/spandex/hair band era. Rock of Ages runs Sundays at 2pm and 7pm.

Also in June, Shadowbox Live's Evolutionaries: The Stories and Music of David Bowie and Prince, will continue it's groundbreaking run. Evolutionaries pays tribute to these two amazing artists through live narrative, music, dance and video. This beautiful meta-media production has garnered such positive feedback that Shadowbox Live has decided to extend the run through September 21st. Evolutionaries can be seen on select Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm.

As always Shadowbox Live's Backstage Bistro will serve as a community performance space featuring local comedy, story-telling, and music from Columbus-based artists, and The Galleries at Shadowbox Live will continue to exhibit works from some of the city's burgeoning fine artists.
