CSO Music Director Rossen Milanov to Lead SIDE BY SIDE Session for Amateur Musicians

The CSO invites amateur musicians to participate in its highly successful Side by Side program on Wednesday, March 1. In this special rehearsal session on the stage of the Ohio Theatre, CSO Music Director Rossen Milanov and the musicians of the CSO will rehearse a pre-established repertoire with approximately 50 amateur musicians who will sit next to and play along with a professional musician proficient in their chosen instrument.

Wednesday, March 1, 7-9:30pm

Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St.)

Scheduled repertoire* to include:

Mussorgsky A Night on a Bald Mountain

Bizet Carmen Suite #1, Intermezzo and The Toreadors

Prokofiev Romeo and Juliet, Montagues and Capulets

Elgar Nimrod

Khachaturian Sabre Dance

Participants must be amateur musicians age 25 or older that are able to read music and play an instrument that is part of the standard orchestra instrumentation. No audition is required.

Registration is online only, beginning at 6pm on Monday, January 9, 2017, at http://www.columbussymphony.com/education/side-by-side/. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance via email beginning Monday, January 16.

Accepted participants must submit a $100 participation fee (parking included) before receiving practice parts or confirmed seating.

Friends and family are welcome to attend and observe from the Ohio Theatre auditorium. No video or audio recording will be permitted. Non-flash photography is allowed.
