China National Opera & Dance Theater will release Spring On Dance, a dance drama which debuted in April, Global Times reports. The performance will be released online using technology from Huawei, in a new agreement the two signed on Saturday.
Spring on Dance will mark the first performance to go online in new digital formats such as 4K high-definition video and virtual reality experiences.
Tao Cheng, the theater's director, believes that providing online performances will allow more Chinese troupes to reach a broader audience.
Alongside this announcement, the theater will introduce an online service enabling members to watch their theatrical works, both old and new.
